Above all else, the GR team should remember that if this software is not fun it will fail in the marketplace. Make playing our guitars with our PC’s or console’s FUN!!!

Reward us for our successes(achievements).
Poke some good humored fun at us when we fail(doh!).
Give us a way to see that we are progressing/regressing.
Make us laugh. Make us cry. Make us trash talk eachother!

the game should also not punish you for adding extra bits in with your playing. (unless it already does this) most guitarists actually do throw in a little more things with their playing.

I’d like to see a bass guitar version.

I’ve already emailed them regarding this. I just hope they do it.

I have a few wants from this bit of software.

Firstly, I really hope that its cross platform and supports Linux. I am a Linux user and would hate to miss out on this game.. and I’m guessing this is something wine run very well.

Secondly, I hope they have some good tutorials and information for new guitar players. I recently picked up a cheap electric guitar to get to grips with this game’s style and learning just the basics is quite different then I expected.

Finally, I hope they have a built in tool for guitar tuning. There is nothing worse then a guitar sounding out of tune and its not easy to tune first time around.

Most importantly though, I really hope it delivers what they promote with good note detection that allows a guitar to be simply plugged into the sound card.

Mark,

I think your right about the built in tuner, as people tend to play in different pitches I think it would be a great way of standardising the tuning of the guitar.

Another good point of having a in built tuner is, after having a long hard thrash at one of the extra hard songs, theres a good chance your guitar may be out of tune, especially if its a cheap one. Having this in-built tuner would allow to tune up without having to unplug, tune up and plug in again!

Kinda makes a lot of sense to me!

I dont know about you guys but i would love to hear something more from “Game Tank” on whats going on with this game!

Stand up people and raise your Goblet of rock!! For there will be Rock and it will be good!

Bass support! I’d like to add another vote for that, as I’m another long-suffering newbie bass player out there, and this would be the greatest thing ever… fun AND learning for music hopefuls :)

In fact, a two-player mode with guitar and bass would be the ultimate godsend.

the one thing i would really like to see besides bass in the game, is the ability to improvise solos. the game could tell you what key its in, and you could jam away.

this could be a great way to have people practice lead improvisation. it also could be optional for someone who wants to play the real solo.

i think it would be cool. most guitarists like David Gilmour and Jimmy Page don’t tend to repeat their solos. they just keep a few licks and play whatever.

this could also help in teaching scales as well.

Hey! Congrats for the site! :p

I’d also like a GNU/Linux port of the game, I’m a GNU/Linux user and I’m learning playing guitar and bass. I use some tools in GNU/Linux for the guitar and I’m happy with them.

Will there be chords played in the game or will it only be single notes? Also what about bends, slides, hammer-on’s, etc?

Great concept I can’t wait to try it out!

As far as we know chuskey the game will not include full chords, but will include things like hammer-ons, bends and slides.

Thanks for your question!
